History

The notary's office Dr. Schmidt has existed in this form since June 2025 and emerged from the law firm Dr. Schwenck und Dr. Schmidt, which in turn has its origins in the traditional Cannstatt law firm Dr. Sigloch und Kollegen.

The law firm Dr. Sigloch und Kollegen was known for many decades in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt as a law firm and notary's office and was founded in 1967 by Dr. Friedrich Sigloch. His father, Friedrich Sigloch senior, had been working as a public notary in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt since 1934. Since the death of Dr. Friedrich Sigloch in 2001, the notarial activities have been continued by notary Dr. Walter Schwenck. In 2020, Dr. Schmidt and Dr. Schwenck merged to form the notary's office of Dr. Schwenck and Dr. Schmidt.

In 2019, the office of former lawyer and notary Gerhard Kemmner was integrated into the notary's office of Dr. Schwenck. These mandates are now handled by notary Dr. Gabriel Ludwig Schmidt and Württ. notary assessor Otto Weiler.

After Dr. Schwenck reached the statutory retirement age, Dr. Schmidt has been managing the notary's office as a sole office since 2025. The files and deeds of Dr. Schwenck are now kept by Dr. Schmidt. As a retired notary, Dr. Schwenck will continue to work in our notary's office and will continue to be available to you as a trusted advisor.
